Were the Communist Countries Really Communist?

Gareth Edwards sets out the arguments at a public forum, and answers questions from some of the 25 in attendance.

Apologies for the delay in putting this up - there were some big problems with the sound, which I've done my best to correct.

Recorded August 17th 2008, Citrus Cafe, Portsmouth, England. Running time 45 minutes.

Why is this image the opposite way round??

Ah, a small technical oversight that comes from filming the event with a webcam.

Webcams are usually set up to face the user, which means the image the user sees of themselves is mirrored. When they move left, the image moves right, which can be rather disorienting.

The obvious solution is to re-mirror the image so it looks right. Unfortunately this means when the webcam is rotated 180 degrees to face away from the user, the image becomes, so to speak, only mirrored once.

Such are the minor technical issues a comrade has to be aware of when working with computers. I hope the reversed Gareth didn't distract you too much from what he had to say.
